About the self-audit tool
This self-audit tool was designed by researchers at USC. It enables teachers and preservice teachers to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement in relation to teaching and integrating ICT and technologies in the classroom.
The questions in the self-audit relate to 10 categories:
- General computing skills
- Email skills
- World wide web/internet skills
- Word processing
- Presentation skills
- Spreadsheet skills
- Multimedia skills
- Coding and robotics
- ICT and Technologies pedagogy, and
- Common technologies used in schools.
How the audit tool was designed
The audit was constructed using information selected from a range of resources listed in the table below.
How to use your results
At the conclusion of the self-audit, participants are provided with a report which can assist them to identify areas of strength, in which they could mentor others, and areas for improvement, which can be used to plan their professional development.
The self-audit tool can also be utilised by schools if teachers share their results and use them to identify staff who could mentor and present PD for other staff within the school.
The results could also be used to identify areas where many of the school staff felt less confident, assisting the school to identify and plan targeted professional development for their staff.
