MIE Robotics Club at Sippy Downs 2021

MIE Community Robotics Club is an 11 week program to prepare students to compete in robotics competitions. The program will begin on Saturday 23rd April and the cost is $150 per student. This is the only cost to participate in the program, all robotics equipment, resources, and laptops will be provided and expert presenters will be delivering the workshops.

The Juniors Robotics club is for students in Years 5 and 6. The club is available at Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay and Moreton Bay and will use different robots at the various locations (Lego Spike, mBots and mBot rangers). The students will learn Block coding from experts in the community.

The High Robotics club is for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 and Higher Education students. It is only offered at the USC Moreton Bay campus. This club will be programming with Python and designing their own robots for competition on Saturday afternoons working with Shane Gingell from Out of the Bots.

At the conclusion of the program teams will be competing in the RoboRave competition on Sunday 17th July 7:30am – 5pm at USC Sunshine Coast Sports Stadium.

All students who register need to commit to attending all 11 weeks of the program (not held during 2 weeks of school holidays) and competing in teams at the RoboRave competition. The cost of team registration to compete in RoboRave is covered in the Robotics club fee, along with the club tshirt to be worn at club each week and during competition.
